Our Dental Gel uses natural ingredients and contains ingredients known to support healthy teeth and gums. It is free of fluoride, which has stirred some controversy due to its toxicity.
Speaking of controversy, why are you using sorbitol? I’ve heard some negative things about it. - Sorbitol is an all-natural derivative of fruits and berries. It is considered to be a sugar, similar to glycerin, and in cosmetic and personal care formulations it often is used instead of glycerin. Sorbitol has also been used as a sweetener in place of sugar (sucrose) in diabetic/dietetic foods. Sorbitol is also used medicinally in intravenous solution to regulate the water balance in the body. While sorbitol can potentially cause diarrhea when consumed in large quantities (20 grams or more, or about one heaping tablespoon), this is not likely to happen while brushing one’s teeth. A search of the FDA’s toxicology databank turned up no reports of toxicity whatsoever.
